My name is Davey, and I’m the founder of Shine Bright Home Fragrance.

Shine Bright isn’t just a business to me. It’s a piece of my heart.

In May 2019, I lost my beautiful Mum. She wasn’t just my Mum; she was my best friend, my biggest supporter and the person who taught me what unconditional love really meant. Losing her changed my life forever, and not a single day goes by that I don’t think about her.

Our home was always filled with beautiful fragrances. She adored wax melts, candles and reed diffusers, and together we were forever searching for products that truly filled a room with fragrance. Those simple moments, choosing scents and making our home feel warm and welcoming, became some of my most treasured memories.

After losing her, I desperately wanted to create something that would keep her memory alive.

Something meaningful, something that would make people smile in the same way fragrance always made her smile.

That’s how Shine Bright was born.

The name itself holds a very special meaning to me. I truly believe my Mum shone too brightly for this world, and although she is no longer here beside me, I know she is now the brightest star in the sky… forever shining bright.

When I first started, Shine Bright wasn’t a business.

It was just me, standing in my kitchen after work, spending hours researching ingredients, learning everything I possibly could and testing product after product. I wanted to create home fragrance that I could genuinely be proud of—beautifully scented products made using premium 100% soy wax and carefully chosen ingredients, because quality was never something I was willing to compromise on.

Many evenings ended in trial and error, melted wax everywhere and plenty of mistakes, but with every batch I learned something new. Slowly, what started as a hobby became a passion, and that passion became something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Then, in 2022, my greatest adventure began. My little boy came into my life and becoming a Dad changed everything.

I realised that the moments we spend with the people we love are life’s greatest gift. I knew I wanted to be there for every milestone, every school play, every bedtime story and every hug after a difficult day. I didn’t want to return to a life where someone else decided how much time I could spend with my family.

So I made one of the biggest decisions of my life, I chose to believe in Shine Bright.

I poured everything I had into growing this little business, hoping that one day it would allow me to do what I love whilst being the Dad I’d always dreamed of being.

Today, every single order is still packed with the same love, care and attention that went into those very first products made in my kitchen.

Nothing is mass produced and nothing is rushed.

Every wax melt is hand poured in small batches. Every fragrance is carefully selected. Every parcel is packed with genuine gratitude, because I know that without customers like you, none of this would be possible.

People often ask me why I’m so passionate about home fragrance, and the answer is simple.

Fragrance is more than just fragrance.

A single scent can transport you back to a childhood memory, remind you of someone you love or bring comfort on the days you need it most.

That’s why our brand promise has always been:

One scent can unlock a thousand memories.

For me, Shine Bright is my Mum’s legacy, It’s my family’s future.

It’s the dream that started on a kitchen worktop and continues to grow because of the incredible people who choose to support a small family business.
